The Moravian Church has always been deeply committed to loving our neighbors, recognizing that no distinction among us is greater than the love of God! We are called to manifest love toward all people and witness to our neighbors sharing the word of the love of God.

We do this in several ways:

• We sponsor a Dewey’s Holiday Store in the Oak Ridge Commons Shopping center. We sell Dewey’s products (primarily cookies, cheese straws, sugar cake, and other sweets) as well as our own homemade chicken pies, fruit preserves, Moravian stars, and more. This generates funds for our various outreach ministries and partnerships.

• We contribute faithfully to a local food bank in Summerfield called the Sonshine Room at Summerfield Peace United Methodist Church.

• We partner annually with Rise Against Hunger and the Oak Ridge Military Academy to provide and pack meals that are distributed worldwide.

• We have partnered with Trinity Moravian Church in the Debt Jubilee Project to raise money in order to buy and cancel medical debt for those in need.

• We continue to partner with the Moravian Board of World Mission and many others in disaster relief efforts, helping those affected by hurricanes in North Carolina, Tennessee, Florida, and Jamaica.

• We also partner annually with Samaritan’s Purse in their Operation Christmas Child sending gift-filled shoeboxes and the message of Christ to children in need around the world.
