Join us for a Lovefeast!

Christmas Eve- December 24th @ 5 and 7 PM,

Thanksgiving Eve @ 7 PM,

And periodically throughout the year as announced.

A lovefeast is a worship service featuring music and a simple meal, typically coffee and a sweet bun, where we celebrate the unity and equality we find in Christ. It resembles the Agape meal shared by disciples of Christ for centuries. This meal was renewed spontaneously in the Moravian Church on August 13, 1727, when during a Holy Communion worship service the community experienced an outpouring of the Holy Spirit. Rather than departing for the usual noonday meal, they continued fellowshipping and discussing the spiritual blessing from the Lord.

Many Moravian congregations celebrate the lovefeast tradition on Christmas Eve or Christmas morning, Thanksgiving Eve, and for other varying holidays and church milestones.

We at Moravia invite you to join us in continuing the lovefeast tradition and sharing the unity we find in Christ at our Christmas Eve Lovefeasts on Dec. 24th at 5 and 7 PM. Please also join us for our Thanksgiving Lovefeast on Nov. 27th at 7 PM.

Christmas Eve

  • Lovefeast

Join us on Christmas Eve for a simple meal of bread and coffee, a night of singing and celebrating the birth of Christ!

  • Candlelight Service

To conclude our Christmas Eve lovefeast, we pass out beeswax candles representing the purity and light of Christ. We light and lift those candles together as we sing common Christmas hymns and carols.
